Ensuring the safe handling of ignition systems, especially with regard to electromagnetic compatibility and interference, requires advanced safety verification methods. Simulation-based approaches are becoming increasingly important as they allow a detailed investigation of the components and interactions of ignition systems. In this work, a generic simulation model was developed and validated to detect electromagnetic coupling and to improve the understanding of the behaviour of ignition systems under different electromagnetic conditions.
