Powering and communicating with many nodes contained inside a cylindrical body necessitates complex and costly cable assemblies. Wireless power and communication architectures provide a means to simplify the assembly process and improve the reliability of the node operation. Two methods have been explored in this work including radio frequency (RF) and capacitive wireless power transfer and communication.
