As of the time of writing, MIL-STD-461G is the latest Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing standard that defines test methods and performance measurements Electronic Arm and Safe Devices (ESAD) must meet. Proper EMI pre-certification testing and analysis is necessary to mitigate failed tests which can lead to project cost and schedule over runs. This paper will show how L3Harris Fuzing & Ordnance Systems uses LTSpice and a limited number of laboratory test instruments for pre-certification testing to mitigate design concerns related to CE101 and CE102.
