Lethality Optimization for Situationally Aware Munitions (LOSAM) creates a new core competency for the DOD by developing a munition agnostic framework to optimize lethality in the terminal phase. Enabled by prior OUSD(R&E) investments from the Joint Enhanced Munition Technology Program (JEMTP), the Dynamic Triggering for Munitions project has shown to reduce salvo size over baseline, increase the number of stowed kills, and reduce logistical burden. By adding selectable, multi-effect warheads to the Dynamic Triggering concept, LOSAM creates a paradigm shift in munition lethality package design, enabling down range, real-time matched lethality between munition and target.
