Blank Fire Barrel (BFB) technologies developed by NSWC Crane provide an enhanced training capability for small arms weapons systems. These BFB technologies include a pressure discriminating cartridge chamber to enhance safety in the event standard, live ammunition is mistakenly used in a blank-fire training environment. Also, a discreet blank firing adapter provides more realistic training by maintaining the outer profile of the barrel muzzle and is designed to safely catch a bullet if mistakenly fired.
